If you take it 100% back to stock, never admit to launching, racing or driving sporty, you MAY be able to get them to warranty it.

But dont hold your breath.

^ on my older evo, mitsu rebuilt my tranny, changed my brembos cuz they pealed, and changed my tcase along with the acd due to a leak for FREE! so it all depends on the dealer. and i would talk to them on the phone first prior to taking the car up there.
find a small mitsu dealer and not the big ones that don't really need ur business.
my 0.02 pennies!

dont even waste your time trying to get warranty work. my clutch master cylinder broke and they wouldnt cover it because "your brake fluid doesnt look right" it was ate super blue. I even brought them the can of brake fluid and they still said no.

That is going to tell you that you cannot be denied warranty work for a part that went bad independent of a part you changed. For instance they can't refuse to swap out your MAF sensor if you changed your brake setup. Understand? So if a part you changed has nothing to do with the other going bad then they must replace it, if they say no, you can fight it and probably win but youll need a lawyer. However, if you have an intake, and your MAF goes bad then you might have caused the problem yourself and they have every right to say no to your warranty repair. Depends on the dealer, find a nice one and might get it. I would say no way though, no dealer wants to eat the cost of replacing your T-case under warranty so they will most likely fight you for it... Good luck

Yes the maguson-moss act says that they have to prove that the mod did the damage.

BUT its way better not to have to deal with them and fight them and just show up with your car 100% STOCK

It all comes down to money. If you're broke then try to get it covered under warranty. You can try several dealerships if you get denied from the first few.

If you have the money then get it built. There's a reason it broke and it probably should be stronger.

However it works out learn to launch/drive your car so it doesn't happen again.

what do u get to loose if u take it to the dealer? nothing...so try them out and if it didn;t work then go aftermarket.
Its recession, and i think they would rather make money out of mitsu than sit on thier asses.
