turbo questions **updates pg.4!**

**UPDATED 1/14/12 pg.5!!**

well, you guys are gonna love this...

i picked up a TDO5H 16g off a EVO 8 and i have some questions. the turbo itself only has 3000 miles on it, and is just the turbo w/ stock wastegate. no vac/water/oil lines attached to it. questions are...

since the car will not be a DD are the water lines totally necessary?
what psi does the stock w/g actuate at?
is the O2 bunge fairly universal? (got the invidia O2 "outlet" piece)
where can i buy just a flange to attach to the O2 outlet for my downpipe?

any answers/advice is much appreciated.

btw.. this will be going on to my B18 EG civic hatch

yes, this turbo was designed to run on a wet set up.

what psi does the stock w/g actuate at?

stock evo 8 turbos boost to 19 +/- and settle to around 12-13. the WG itself i believe cracks around 12 psi. however, i could be wrong.

is the O2 bunge fairly universal? (got the invidia O2 "outlet" piece)

with stock set up turbos, any o2 housing set to run with the stock design will fit. the invidia being one of them.

where can i buy just a flange to attach to the O2 outlet for my downpipe?

i dont know of any places that just sell the flange, but you could always look for used downpipe and cut/weld it.

According to my Greddy Pro-Fec B my w/g starts to crack at 11.8. Just like Nickcarlson1 stated the turbo is designed to run with the water lines. I would really suggest running it with out one.

youre gonna need more than a stock evo 8 turbo to do that...

- i would run water lines as it will make the turbo run alot cooler therefore making it last longer
- stock wg is .5bar(imsure you will run some sort of boost controller.)
-as for the o2 side. youll want to fab up a 1 piece downpipe. (google 16g flange) do not use a 02 housing. your also not the 1st person to put a 16g on a b series. hope this helps.

How about everyone be a little more respectful?

I think this is a really cool concept.

my hatch weighs barely over 2000lbs with me in it. it dont take much to make it go fast. I'm shooting for 250-260 FWHP out of this setup, which will be on a conservative tune. with that power it will run mid-11's... and, i bet i get that kind of power under 14 psi.

a stock Evo with a good driver pulls low 13's...

Who races a completely stock evo? They're capable of mid 11's with a MBC, fuel pump, intake, exhaust, tune, and a good driver. Somewhere in the 12's probably just by ditching the pig rich stock tune.

Most evo's you find that actually want to race are going to be 350whp+.

theres no doubting the potential of Evo's. thats for sure. i plan on runnin a EBC on it and definitely will be spending a good bit of time on the dyno.
