Mixing and matching exhaust systems

I bought my car a month ago and it came with the Tanabe Concept G Blue exhaust. It's waaay too loud for my liking so I'm looking at getting just the rear section of Buschur's Magnaflow exhaust.

But my concern is that the pieces won't match up-- both systems are 3" but I'm not sure if the bends and pipe lengths will match up.

I doubt anyone has this exact experience but if anyone can shed some light, I'd appreciate it. And before everyone says "contact Buschur," I already have and they're not getting back to me.

I had a greddy 70 mm downpipe, atp 3 inch test pipe, and a perrin catback. It doesn't hurt to mix and match, it's just all about finding what you want and how you want it to sound. I'm not a fan of how the Buschur's magnaflow exhaust looks, but it sounds pretty good.

well i must be the first to have gone through this matching issue..

here is a link to my thread about a new DP not matching up to the rest of the exhaust because of different brands... https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ml#post7826696

The Megan DP and Apexi DP were different lengths therefore, did not match up and I had a gap.

As long as you dont bottle necking with the mixed exhaust parts you are good to go!

I have a Buschur downpipe, an Ultimate Racing resonated testpipe and an Invidia G200... All parts are true 3" and it seems that they work just fine!

Unless you know for sure about the rear section, "axle back?" lining up 100%, I wouldn't attempt it.

Most companies only worry about their exhaust lining up with the factory cat location, and rear hangars, the rest is up to them...

Aren't all of Buschur's catbacks and rear sections slip-fit? If so, welding will be required.

Fitting just the rear section/axle back could be difficult, changing the catback would be easier. Generally, as long as your brand of choice doesn't use something other than the standard 2-bolt flange you should be ok. Keyword should. I don't have any fitment issues with my ebay O2, Megan DP and TP and Perrin catback.
