Finally doing the build

I blew up my motor about 4 months ago and I'm finally getting around to the rebuild.. I ordered a 2.3L stroker from GSC motorsports. I dont have alot of money, so I'm probably going to keep the head stock. I am running a tubular header with an FP Red w/ 18psi actuator and a custom 3" straight pipe tb...

I'm just wondering what other recommendations you guys might have to keep it more reliable this time? Keep in mind Christmas killed me, I dont have much spare cash, haha..

I'm also on all stock intake piping and whatnot. And I'm not looking for crazy power, I road race NASA TTS and am limited to around 400whp.. I'm just looking for more torque really

Thanks guys

*EDIT*
I also ordered all ARP studs and Clevite 77 bearings headgaskets, water pump, gates belts, new tensioners, ect. ect..

Im assuming you have nothing except the stated in the thread..

I would do intercooler piping, new core(buschur race), intake pipe and filter(www.dejonpowerhouse.com), cams(GSC s1), injectors(Precissions), walbro 255, twin disc.

I know your short on cash but before You put it together and plan on driving i would do cams, injectors, pump and might as well do intake pipe too. The rest do as you have money and would be a really nice setup.

I have an ETS 3" with stock I/C piping is what I meant.. Sorry. I have an AEM intake with K&N filter.. A Boost controller, BOV, 02 housing, full straight exhaust, Precision injectors, Piggyback ECU.. But I am on stock IC piping and TB/intake manifold. I need a new BOV though. The car came stock with a TurboXS BOV.. Its ****, I'm not sure on what to buy though, there is alot of choices

Exedy HD Twin Disc.. Shep Stg 2 TC.. Shep Tranny.. All solid mounts.. I'm still on the OE Fuel pump and rail/lines. I also bought the Race IC J pipe for the Red but it wont clear the OE A/C lines? So I used the stock J Pipe

Oh well in that case i would do the cams and walbro 255. Should hold you over pretty well.

As far as bov go with the synchronic bov by synapse engineering. There are a few reviews on here. Its a very nice bov. I plan on using one with my 6262 setup.

thanks. I was looking at the Synapse.. It looks and sounds very good.

but performance is the only thing I care about. I dont street drive my car really, lol..

Do you think this stroker kit will help with my torque problem? I have absolutely no bottom end with the RED

2.3 with a red will have great power off the line and all the way through the power band. should make for some real nice low end torque.

Im with you with just looking for performance value out of the bov. Thats why i wanna go with the synapse. from the little bit of research i have done it seems to be very consistent and reliable. no leaking or boost creep. I actually e-mailed synapse on some info on theyre bov and wg but still waiting for a reply. If you serach synapse on here should bring up some good info and reviews on the bov.

not to be negative but if you want a reliable responsive car and only want 400whp on a 2.3. id say ditch the red and get the new hta green or even just get a ported stock 9 turbo. maybe a bbk full. idk thats just me. a red is gonna go WAY past 400 on a 2.3

Red on pump gas will do 4-450 running the right amount of boost. Yes you could do it with a green too but for reliability i would rather do it with the red on lower boost so im not maxing the turbo out.

the new hta green has something like a 54-57lbs wheel in it 400 will by NO meas be maxing it out. a 2.3 with a red on a low reading mustang dyno would prob make 420-430 on 20 psi. i just think its adding lag in a situation were you could pick u a much more responsive turbo....

partially clogged injector on cylinder 4.. Already fixed.

The power output really doesn matter, it is what it is.. I just know that where I live in the mountains the longest stretch is 50ft so I dont really have a need for alot of power.. It gets me to where I need to go way to fast then I dont make the turn, haha..

But yea, I got a good deal on the Red, otherwise I would have bought a Green
