I've been working meticulously with 16g frame turbos for over 3years now. It's just time to step up to a more efficient frame.

Sorry for your family troubles this year, Ryu. I hope you put a HTA3582 on it and forget about all the bearing wear and other issues on the FP Black. Good luck and keep on keeping on dude.

I agree, I think the FP run has had enough. It's time for a bigger frame turbo.

I appreciate the kind words. Since this is a daily driver and a street car project, spool is a major priority with any new setup that goes on my car. I will be going with the HTA82, most likely in a t4 twin scroll setup. I should be able to purchase the majority of the components I will need for the new setup next week after I receive payment for the FP Black sale that is pending. My car is a little heavier then the other guys that share the same passion for pushing the stock block to it's limits as I am still on stock suspension, stock brakes, still have other light weight components that are not on the car etc... So it seems it will take me a bit more air flow to keep up with their impressive power/weight ratios.

any turbo can break per say. dont be mad because you pay 2x as much to run 9s and folks stick with the stock framers and run 9s as well the world is changing. if you want to go big to hit your so-called goal then so be it.

If you take into account the extra lightweight part's that I have not purchased I am not paying more at all much less "2x's as much". $950 for D2 coilovers, $250 for buschur lightweight rear side diff supports, $1400 for lightweight rotors, $225 for light weight front motormount bar.... Those light weight performance parts add up very quickly as all those items I do not have total out to $2825. Nearly as much as a T3 turbo kit. It will not even cost that much for me to put together a custom HTA82 twin scroll setup so I have to disagree with your statement on cost.

As there are always deals with going to t3 or t4 twin scroll setups as well. Either way the margin is the same.

Rock posts everywhere that the black is the best because he has it and he chose it not everyone is gonna like what you do..The fp stock frame turbos seem to fail alot due to its not a ball bearing turbo and they can't stand high boost levels for to long.I had 2 fp reds fail on me and then bought a black and wasn;t to happy with it so I sold it for a t3 and couldn't be happier. You look and read to much about these people breaking records due to kill mode tuning and completely gutted and have every single part on their car's..The best example would be my friend black carbons car if you think it's gonna run like his it's not reason why..

1.You don't have the same motor build as him!
2.You don't have the same supporting mods as him!
3.And the finishing touch you DON'T HAVE THE SAME TUNER AS HIM!!!!!!

Very well said. The majority of the public does not realize what it takes to achieve amazing results with these stock frame turbo's. There is quite a bit of extra cost along with sacrifices of vehicle comfort that record holders have made to reach their end results. It's not as simple as just "the right combination of parts" as it goes quite a ways beyond that as well.

I have reached a 10.8 with my bone stock Evo 9 turbo, and a 10.301 with my FP Red while still retaining all my creature comforts of a daily driver. It would be nice to claim 9's on a stock frame turbo, but I am not willing to make all the sacrifices that go along with that. I'm pleased with the accomplishments I have made on these small turbo's and have no regrets with moving on from them at this point.
