I think he only went 125ish with the small brakes and slicks, but he went upper 120's on street tires.

I dont know why i kept being brought up i was happen when Will broke the 9sec record and i will be happy when you get it also. Keep up the good work man. Who is going to be tuning your car now? Im deployed and heard ttp was selling their dyno so will you just be street tuned by Scott?

 

Thanks Draven. I would have liked to have done it on the black as well, but based on the gains that I saw over my Red I would have still needed to drop about 100lbs out of my car to make up for the bit of power I still would have needed. I definitely have the heaviest car out of you, Will, and I. I still have not ironed out all of the details of tuning, but I'm sure Scott and I will be able to work something out. The title of this thread is: Ryu's hunting for 9's on the Stock Block

I fail to see where it says the word "first". This is a personal accomplishment that the OP would like to accomplish on his car. How he gets there is up to him.


I'm not sure why all of you are attacking him. Especially some (including myself) who have not gone faster. If you've gone 9's on your stock block, that is AMAZING and you should be helpful to those who would like to reach that as well.

Ryu, you will get that 9 second slip because you don't give up and you can drive! How you get there is up to you. Were here to offer suggestions and follow your amazing journey offering another true testament to how amazing the 4G63T is.

I'm not hating....I just didn't see the point now. Build the block....if you think a stock bolck is going to last running 9's, you're just nieve.

I wish Ryu all the best.....I've just always thought i was weird to try n push a stock block to its limits...when you can simply build it.

 

By stock motor do you guys mean no head studs, stock rods, stock pistons, stock rod bolts? I am really interested since I have a bone stock motor myself.

 

What were the results with the FP black and why did you go with the other turbo setup? This thread is long so maybe I missed it.

 

Stock block means everything under the head and above the oil pan have been completely untouched. Only head modifications are headstuds, cams, exhaust cam gear, springs/retainers.

I made 510whp uncorrected on TTP's dyno with my FP Red that went 10.301@132.7mph I made 540whp uncorrected on TTP's dyno with the FP Black with peak power holding noticeably better up top. Based on the proven accuracy of the VDR program that everyone has been using, 540whp uncorrected on TTP's dyno equates to approx: 565-570whp dynojet. Based on the power increase I would have expected around a high 135 to low 136mph trap speed. I need at minimum a mid to high 137mph trap speed for a 9second pass to be possible.

Make no mistake, this is by no means a drag setup that I have put together. My final goal with this car is a very versatile and well rounded setup that is able to run single digits in drag racing but have a broad powerband for daily driving, autox, and road course. I could easily pull more top end out of this setup with a larger intake manifold, longer duration cams, etc... but that would completely take away from the main objective I am aiming for with this car. A well rounded performer.

Not really, it just said the you and Scott may be able to work something out... since TTPs dyno is on Ebay, that leaves a lot of stuff up in the air... it was a legit question that was never answered...
