Synapse bov ?

Sup guys,

I just picked up this bov and was wondering for those of you who have it, was your pre-load adjustment tight or loose? I'm having a prob with it fluttering then blowing off. Its not a lot of flutter, its really quick then blows off. I have ports C going to the turbo outlet and B going to the IM with a T to my hallman mbc. Port A is open.

TIA

I actually have the same problem too. If I try to go WOT in low RPMs, the BOV will blow open prematurely and I'll get crazy flutter. Now if I go WOT after 4K, then it will hold shut. I have port B going to my IM and port C is hooked up to my Turbo Outlet but is also T'd into my MBC. I'm wondering if thats the problem. But I don't see how else I could hook it up.

I think you could try to T the intake mani side and that might help, then you may be in the exact boat as me though...

I have that BOV, 1 make sure you got the evo version, 2 you should T the 2 ports in the back to a vaccum source. I will take a pic of mine tomorrow to show you. I had the same problem, good thing I live close to Synapse and took it there to get checked out.

Awesome thanks. I'm pretty positive its universal for the bov itself, but I have the recirculate adapter. I'll try to T both A & B ports to the vaccum source.

I was going to do that if I couldn't solve it by tomorrow. Thanks for the replys guys.

I didn't know they made an evo version. I thought they were all universal.

They are universal. You just need to make sure it recirculates. I was having the same problem with it pulling me out of boost and fluttering at low rpm. I ended up have a loose vaccum line off the back of my Intake manifold on the passenger side way down there. When I reattached it, the fluttering went away except occasionally when I release the throttle in 5th.

I have a and b port going to the manifold and c going to the boost source of my turbo outlet. Port a and be are on one t line. Port c has one tee where it meets my ebc. I will take a pick in a little bit.

sigh.. I've tried alot of different combos. Does anyone have a solid setup with out compressor surge on partial throttle?? Also, does anyone else have a bit more flutter with normal driving or is it normal since this bov is more audible than stock? I also pm synapse so hopefully I'll have a solution tomorrow.

I have no such problems, and in fact, I find this valve to be the best thing since sliced bread where BOVs are concerned.

Connnect 'C' to your UICP. Tee 'A'+'B' together, and connect that line to your IM. Tee nothing else into these lines.

I would assume he is using the port on the IM meant for the BOV line.

I'm not using a factory IM. I recommend tee'ing 'A'+'B' to a direct connection to the IM that results in a 'dead end'. An MBC is an air leak. I would avoid tee'ing anything else into that line.

Yes, I mean 'C' plumbed to a boost source as close to the TB as you can get it.

Thanks for the reply guys. I figured it out shortly after I posted that. The problem I was having was that I T'd my mbc with the line from the IM which connected ports a & b. I T'd port c going to the turbo outlet and shazam! problem solved. I still get some flutter in 5th and 6th with partial throttle but rarely. I also think having both a & b ports T'd work much better for street applications as constant "spirited" driving worked better with just a or b. Thanks again for your replys.
