My car is with the tuner at the dyno and he is going crazy. He cant find the reason why my knock sensor is going crazy. He checked the exhaust and it is not rubbing with anything, he changed the knock sensor and nothing. He is about to change the front motor mounts but he is almost positive that those wont be the problem either. He told me that even on neutral if he revs the motor it will show about 50 counts with Q16! So he is 100% sure there must be something wrong there. Any other ideas that could help?

did it always knock like crazy with this build or is this new?

try a differnt knock sensor.

 

It is new. The most knock I ever got was 7 counts, now it is absolutely crazy. They already put a new knock sensor and it is still not working.

 

hook up some det cans and start tuning the knock settings.

2.3L's are notorious for phantom knock

 

have him pull the plugs check gap on them, all those misfire counts.....a plug being broken inside ur combustion chamber or somethin like that could cause it...gl

 

i've had a mysterious 32 counts of knock on mine after I did cams and valvesprings with absolutely no idea as to what it is! Put stock cams back in and still knocking!
Check timing or balance shaft phase. check plugs, check for boost leaks.
