Underdrive pully cant be balanced :(
Underdrive pully cant be balanced :(
So, my machine shop just called and said that they can NOT balance my rotating assembly with the Unorthodox Racing crank pulley. I thought since i opted for the lighter exedy flywheel they should not have a problem, but i guess not. anyone have any input on this,or know anyone who heard the same thing?

"It has been rumored that the fluid in a Fluidampr turns to gel over time. Here’s a news flash, its gel when we pump it into the damper. That is how the technology works. The silicone gel inside the damper keeps the flywheel in place and functioning. So to put all of the competitions claims to rest, it is a gel, always and forever. Maybe we should have named them Geldamprs" .
Also right from their site. Also its a silicone type gel 45,000 times thicker then 30 weight motor oil. No worries about using one of those

I just installed one for a guy locally. Nice unit, its pretty heavy which i kinda like because when you take all the rotating wait out the engine it gets tricky to pull out. the only thing I noticed is i thought it would fit tighter on the crank, when I say that I mean fit tighter to the dowel on the crank. The timing mark is on the pulley and pulley can be scewed either way a few degrees. not an issue if you are degreeing, which most of the motors this would be going on probably would be.
