Buschur Racing engine tear down video!!
Hi everyone,
As many of you know we've built more than our fair share of fast EVO's. The one question we always get is, "Yeah, but how long does it last?" We then attempt to explain that there are a lot of variables but the reality is there is no reason you can't have a good, daily driven 9 second street EVO.
We did a large group of builds all in a fairy short amount of time that made enough power to all run 9's. Some of these cars were never taken to the track, some were taken with poor drivers or poor tire choices etc. We had about 6 of maybe 10 builds we did within 9 months of each other that did run 9's and a few others that were close or never even tried.
One of those EVO's belongs to Tim, slorice, here on the forums. His EVO was built with our standard 2 liter engine, head, FP3582 etc. The car ran 9.90's at 145 mph, 10.4 at 135 mph on pump gas, made 650'ish whp on race fuel and about 540 on pump gas (these numbers are off the top of my head and a close ballpark but NOT higher or faster than actual). The car also had between 15,000 and 20,000 miles put on it. On a daily basis the car was run at 29-30 psi of boost on 93 octane, no alky kit, just straight 93 from wherever it could be bought. Tim has had very good luck with the car in general and as far as the engine/head/turbo goes it has been flawless.
Tim decided it was time to go to the next step. The engine was running great, no problems, issues, oil leaks or anything else. He wanted to freshen it up and then change the set up on the car, goal is to make over 700 whp and drop the car into the low 9's at over 150 mph, while retaining the use as a daily driver.
The video we made shows the engine as Tim delivered it to us from the car, then goes through a high speed tear down. In the video I show how well the engine held up.
Without further delay, here is the video:

Also, thanks to Jarrod for taping the video and doing the editing and such, ON HIS DAY OFF!! Thanks Jarrod!

Fantastic video David and JRod! Oh yea, and the motor was built pretty good too.
I'm excited to see what the new combination is going to do. David, we'll have to discuss some things for sure on the new combo. I'm still undecided on a few parts of the build.
