It seems the smaller turbine definitely affects the GTPumps knockoff HTA . Smaller turbine to supposedly help spool definitely cost power and is not a proper match I would imagine.

PS you guys should have started a new thread you aknow how us Yanks can be Cheers

Hi Aza , I'm very interested to hear how the real deal FP Green HTA73 goes on an Evo 6 as from my coupla days research it seems to be the one to have on the street .

I think there has been a few local "variations" here in Oz and another that comes to mind was their TD06SL2 20G thing that I think was trying to emulate the White Rabbit SL2 thing - the one with FPs five bladed custom compressor wheel .

I think there may be a few urban myths surrounding twin scroll turbine/housing systems and I guess the usual would be smaller must be better from the single scroll housing past .
Most of what I've been reading for the past few years suggests that if anything being a little larger in the turbine allows the expanding exhaust gasses to expend a bit more energy into the turbine blades on the way through .
Robert (Young ?) at FP obviously put a huge effort into the HTA Green and would have been able to play with turbine sizes to strike a good trade off of turbine response and ultimate power .
The port shrouded compressor housing you'd think would give more latitude to size the wheel around efficient (coolest) airflow and avoid surge .
Its been suggested to me that PS comp housings have a win each way because the passages allow an escape route for air the engine can't accept at low revs and actually feed the wheel at higher engine airflow/revs .
I tend to think that with the ported shroud cycling air at lower engine revs the compressor would be running slightly faster in a sort of "semi unloaded state" and this would absorb less turbine energy and aid "spool up" .

Anyhow theorising aside PLEASE let me know how the HTA Green goes on you Evo 6 because I'm very interested - for some strange reason ...

Thanks , Adrian in Sydney .

Actually one more , burnzy mentioned that 10.8cm turbine housing from GT pumps and I 'd like to know a bit more about that one , someone recently fitted one to a later car here .
Gut feeling is that Robert would have tried one if he knew about them but maybe he didn't .

It's said to be a real OE looking turbine housing , know anything about them ?

Cheers A .
