Compressor wheel pictures wanted
Does anyone have a picture of the EVO IX green, red, black, bbk, ARMS, exc next to some of the more common turbos people run on other cars? I'm interested in seeing the wheels compared to the GT3x, Different T3/T4 wheels exc...
I keep hearing about how us EVO guys run these tiny turbos. Most of them have never had one of those GT series turbos apart to see how "small" the wheels look compared to the compressor housings on those "large frame" turbos. I told them the larger FP turbos are only very slightly smaller than a GT35R wheel but they don't buy it. I know there's more to it than measuring wheel size but there's nothing like seeing a picture.

I'm sure I could look up exact wheel sizes but I'm pretty sure the standard GT35r has a bigger wheel than any of the FP turbos. But you're right, there's more to a turbo than just who has the bigger wheel.. the small housings on the FP Turbos are what limit them, at least in the top end it seems. If you want to prove your friends wrong just spend 10 minutes copying and pasting wheel specs from each one of the turbos manufacturing sites. One question you should ask your buddies is how do they think those little FP turbos are making 500-600whp+ if they have tiny wheels and a tiny housing?
There's a lot of questions that people ask in the car world that can usually be answered by another question. Ultimately, you can have all the knowledge in the world if people will just utilize the tools God has given them.. i.e. Google.
EDIT: Decided I have 30 minutes til class.. I'll provide you with some facts since I have nothing better to do! All the information I found was from Google links.
Fp Red: Utilizes a 60trim compressor wheel (60-1 is what everyone was saying)
Fp Black: 82mm Compressor wheel (same as standard 35r just smaller housing)
GT35R: 82mm Compressor wheel
HTA3586: 86mm Compressor Wheel
Hope this helps you in you endeavours.

Yah, eventhough I decided to do a 35r build instead of going with an FP Red, I still feel like an Fp Red/Black are probably the two best street turbos especially when you factor in the cost.
When looking at the 3 choices here's how I broke it down..
Fp Red.. Good for low/mid range power, good if all you're wanting is a low 11-10sec street car.
Fp Black.. Excellent low/mid range power, would rival most 35r guys from a stop, only downside is you'll have to build your motor before you can really unleash it. Still has something to be desired up top.
35r/3586.. Excellent mid/top end power, good for 9-10sec street/drag cars, 700-800whp is realistic with supporting mods. Nothing better than an external wastegate IMO.
It all depends on budget and what kind of racing you do. If I ever switch turbos it'll be for something like a 37R, always wanted a T51R as well though, but they're hella expensive lol!

Oh I'm personally going with a red with the small housing if i can find one so it looks stock.
I'm 2.3 but I come from a STG3 SRT-4. I want a power band like that not like an s2000. It's all personal preference but showing the actual wheels in the same picture would be cool.

none of those pictures are what i asked for. I know how to search and the best pic i could find showed the 20G next to the red and some other proposed wheel.
I'm interested in seeing them out of their housings next to eachother.
I would LOVE to see a picture of a Red and black next to a 30R and/or 35R
