did u change the plugs, if so how is it running?

 

I had a plug like cylinder #2 from piston slapping it.

How many miles on the plugs? Those are not the correct plugs for a IX (which you have listed in your profile)...hopefully they're from an VIII.

 

Wow, I don't think I've ever seen a spark plug broken like that. Mine was sputtering at WOT, so I replaced the copper plugs with iridium plugs in my Evo VIII, and it's never run better. Just in case you were interested.

 

I'm loving the iridiums in my IX!

46k miles and they still look good and performed flawlessly:

 

yes i changed the plugs and it idles A LOT quieter and runs A LOT better.

Any damage to your engine? I had the same issue as your #3 plug in which the tip broke off inside the #2 cylinder and caused some serious damage resulting in an 2.3L engine rebuild from MAP Performance.

What fuel do you usually run? Just wondering...

You should be sticking a boroscope down into the cylinders corresponding to the grounded electrode and busted strap. More than likely there is some piston damage.

 

unfortunately, that may not be the only damage..

 

check for the reason before other **** happens, dont drive her like that

omg how was your car even running with plug like that??

 

Your probably going to want to do a leakdown test. Very well have cracked a ringland.
