How many miles on the plugs? Those are not the correct plugs for a IX (which you have listed in your profile)...hopefully they're from an VIII.

Wow, I don't think I've ever seen a spark plug broken like that. Mine was sputtering at WOT, so I replaced the copper plugs with iridium plugs in my Evo VIII, and it's never run better. Just in case you were interested.

yes i changed the plugs and it idles A LOT quieter and runs A LOT better.

Any damage to your engine? I had the same issue as your #3 plug in which the tip broke off inside the #2 cylinder and caused some serious damage resulting in an 2.3L engine rebuild from MAP Performance.

What fuel do you usually run? Just wondering...

You should be sticking a boroscope down into the cylinders corresponding to the grounded electrode and busted strap. More than likely there is some piston damage.

unfortunately, that may not be the only damage..
