BINGO!!!! The piston manufacturer knows how much their piston expands with heat.

With that I will step out of the oil squirter discussion.

2.4 is a great idea and it is what I am going with when this motor goes.

i dont care about the price, not that i'm a baller i just want a reliable 500whp motor

as of rite now im looking at the buschur 2.3l built short block w/stg3 head or a sbr 2.4l built short block & built head

i was hoping to get some good info between these two short block before i buy but theres not any out there, anyone that has any experience with both these motor please help me make a good choice

i think im going with a BR 2.3l

im not going with the 2.4l because its just not proven like the 2.3l is and i dont really wanna chance it! although it would be nice to have the 2.4l to spool my red even faster

My red makes 27 psi at 3700 rpm.

And a billet 2.4 with a stock crank - on a red.. will be on vacation...

As for life - stock 2.4's commonly lasted 100K from the factory..

How long did the stock 2.3 from mitsu last from the factory?

what made you choose the 2.4l over the 2.3l?

how does the low end feel in the 2.4l?

The price for both was the same for me - and I had a trashed 2.4

I make 444 ft/tq at 3800 rpm and im above 350ft/tq til 6500. these numbers are from Buschurs Dyno. Its simply insane. Almost no lag and that power was made on 25 psi.

Hey Rogue!! Nice build, I still don't see the 2.4 offered on the BR website. Do you know what Mr. Buschur is offering for a 4G63 core? I understand the desire to keep price down by using the stock 100mm crank but I thought that was the initial concern with reliability with the 2.4? I will be looking into the 2.4 when I get back from OEF to help spool my HTA86. Could really use some more down low! LOL

If you call - they will give you the pricing. Dont quote me - but I THINK the evo block core is 800? and the stock crank is 450? Or somewhere in that ball park.

And the 100mm crank problem for very high HP has an additional option. David can make a 100% billet Manley rotating assymley. Edged and balanced manley crank, rods, pistons. Let the hta86 rip all she wants.

LOL I've actually been looking into the benefits for over two years now. Still weighing the options and deciding what I want to do. I have two 4G63's in my garage right now and have several 4G64's available to me almost free!!! (helping out friends FTW!!!) Some of you would probably mess yourself if you saw all the parts in my garage and "closet". I could take one of the 63's and the stock crank from the 64 and build a stroker and sell it to offset a good bit of the cost of the 64. Plus it's good to know that there are other options out there. I want the power from the HTA86 but also like to have some low end available. Here's the other kicker that Mr. Bushcur won't like. I'm going to run a twin scroll T4 HTA86.

^ Actually, you should run a twin scroll 4094 on a 2.4 or a 2.2 Long rod!
