Exedy Stage 2

Hello, I have an Exedy Stage 2 clutch and flywheel waiting to be installed. I read that there is sometimes problems with the clutch disengaging or something and a SS Clutch Rod is needed. I have it ordered but it is on back order and I am wondering if I will even need it?

single plate exedy units don't have the greatest reputation

their twin plates are well proven however

Thanks, for the info guys.

So the other night I was under my car prepping for the clutch install (the car was just purchased and has been in my garage with a blown clutch) I found something that sent me over the deep end! I bought the car knowing that the clutch was bad but when I went to start the install, there was no transfer case or drive line to the rear wheels! If anybody has any ideas on what I should do let me know. I don't want a FWD car! I will prob just call the dealer and give them hell.

Im running the Exedy stage 2 with HD pressure plate and LW flywheel.
About 1500 or so miles, really happy. no lockouts smooth shifts.... noisey as HELL on decel but you get used to that, haha.

just be careful, it does grip. blew the torque tubes out of the center diff at the track a week and a half ago

if youre daily driving the car, id stay away from pucked (the stage 2) and multi plate clutch setups. Unless you like replacing the discs every 20k miles

Care to elaborate? Under normal non abusive driving you can only expect 20k miles?? I've been running the stage 2 for some time and it's been fine. It grabs hard, has little chatter, and is lasting just fine. Got about 10k miles on it right now. As other have mentioned it is noisy as hell on decel though.
