installing kelfords...need advice

installing kelfords...need advice

hey whats up guys got some kelfords 272 for my evo IX and runing Supertech Dual Valve springs w/ Titanium retainers and Supertech Upgraded Valve Stem Seals... i wanted to know if once i install it do i have to set timing back or w.e of if is just a straight foward thing like like stock ones out and put new ones in...

If you set TDC before hand and tie the belt to the cam gears and keep the belt tight then you should be fine. I recommend getting a copy of the service manual and/or looking up the how to on Evomoto.com.

Be careful when tightening the bolts that go into the ends of the cams... the torque specs in the service manual are WAY off (at least in the service manual I downloaded back in '07).

I torqued them to 65 foot-pounds

also be very careful when installing the mivec came gear, make sure you have the pin aligned perfectly and that it slides all the way onto the cam. If you have to use the bolt to draw it in the last little bit chances are it was lined up in one of the oil grooves. Also make sure to bleed the lifters, I am not sure why so many people forget this step when its a sticky on this page.
