Upgrading / Reinforcing the 6 speed
Honestly just go with the 5speed. I broke 2 6speed before I decided to make the change. In order to get a 6speed to be reliable at a 500hp level you would have to swap gears, heat treat, and add a tranny oil cooler because that in a major problem on the 6speed. They get exstremely hot and the damn gears are to thin.

I did the math over and over again and I'm all over the place between 188- 196 mph.
Let's not get off topic though, updates for the 6 Speed only guys!
IDK whose with me on this, but its always been my opinion that the 6 speed has a better rpm drop for auto x and road race. Also not to mention taming that hgwy exhaust drone at 70-80 mph. This would be excellent for improving on the the dd commute hands down. So if it's able to accept some where around 450-500 tq/ 600-650 whp this is perfect for me.

A friend of mine has been in contact through email with Mr. Shepherd recently. According to him the 3, 4, 5 gearset is being tested in their drag car to make sure it can withstand lots of abuse. 4.09 Final drive gear confirmed. I believe the power figure being thrown around was 600 hp, got to double check that though. I'm not sure if that's 600 crank or wheel horsepower, and the torque figure is still a question mark.
