i hope this upgrade kit works out, because i would love to keep the 6spd rather than going through the hassle of switching to a 5spd

I think its cool that Shep is finally working on the 6 spd transmissions now but it will still not change my decision on swapping to a 5 spd...

I love my 6 speed, I have driven friends 5's and I didn't like it much. My car is mostly for dd though with some light tracking. I can see this giving me some nice mpg improvements too which are always goog for our thirsty beasts.

So the 6th gear isnt replaced though? The one thing I have seen is high torque cars stripping 6th clean of its teeth. I wouldnt try making a 200mph pull with a 14mm wide gear, it wont work well.

I think most of aren't terribly concerned about the 6th gear since all the fuss is over 3rd/4th.

well yeah for drag racing this will make the 6 speed more useable but 6th is still weak, so those that had plans for running Silver State or making Wangan pulls need to possibly reconsider.

I'm not going for 200mph. I know the trans can't hold that power level. 180-185mph in a standing mile is my goal. 167mph is my best so far. I have a spare 6spd that I would like to get built.

I had Chad over at CBRD get in touch with Shep the other day. As stated earlier in the post he confirmed that they are going through a testing stage with their new set of gears for the 6-speed, so not available yet. I'm having mine shipped over there right now to repair my 6-speed cause I can't shift into 6th gear. I decided to go to Shep now because if next time I have issues, knock on wood, Shep gives a discount on repeat labor... and hopefully by that time he'll have this new gear set ready for my 6-speed!

Word, ill keep you guys updated on the state of my trans when I get it back. Ill keep you posted with diving feel, shifting feel and power numbers. Also the driving experience on the track. I think this trans will be amazing. Shep does great work and he won't elease a shoddy product. If there's any issues or the project gets scrapped ill keep you posted.

The cost of a upgraded 5spd is around the $8-900 mark. Is this around the ballpark we are looking at or possibly less since the only gears getting upgraded are 3-5?
