Question K&N Typhoon Intake?

I was reading a car magazine the other night at walmart with one of my buddies and I saw a blue Evo VIII be advertised for the new K&N Typhoon Intake with a heat shield. Does anyone know a dealer that sells these for our cars or are they not even out yet. The picture had showed it being a full hard piping kit from the turbo all the way to the filter.

I'm pretty sure I saw advertising indicating that the Typhoon is available for the Evolution now. I talked to a rep for K & N at HIN in LA and he said it was due out shortly after the show...they already had them installed in the Pepsi Evos and it looked pretty sweet...

No specific information on the avaliablity from the K&N site, but here are the part numbers listed...

2003 MITSUBISHI Lancer EVO Part# 69-6543TB Typhoon Kit VIII only, (SR)
2003 MITSUBISHI Lancer EVO Part# 69-6543TP Typhoon Kit VIII only, (SR)
2003 MITSUBISHI Lancer EVO Part# 69-6543TR Typhoon Kit VIII only, (SR)
2003 MITSUBISHI Lancer EVO Part# 69-6543TS Typhoon Kit VIII only, (SR)

And here is a list of vendors...

Good luck...hope you enjoy the air intake...I would have gotten one, but I already ordered the ARC before I heard about the Typhoon...lol...

I have been reading up on this intake. Looks to be the best available so far. Where can we buy one from? K&N is so ****ing stupid. I e-mailed them once about it and they said they had no plans on making anything for the Evo8. I then e-mailed back with a picture of the intake from a mag and K&N still had no clue.

The K&N Typhoon Intake Kits are now available

We finally completed the intake. It includes a Carbon Fiber-Top Filter, carbon-fiber heat-shield, turbo-inlet tube, and all hardware.

Dyno-charts will be posted on the Typhoon Web site in about 2 weeks.

Thanks

K&N

When you post up the chart, Can you also post the A/F ratio???
I wouldn't want all the power attributed to just running the car lean.

www.truckpartseast.com. List price is $369.15. Their price is $239.95. They don't have them in stock, but can drop ship from K&N. Just got off the phone with them.

id like to see one of these installed...I agree though, I wonder if the power just comes from making the car run lean.

Yes...correct...all kits come with the CF Filter and heat shield...just the pipe is available in different finishes.

Thanks

We have the kit installed on our EVO with an XS intercooler and Apexi N1 exhaust...we haven't dyno'd the EVO since we added the exhaust and intercooler so I'm curious to see the difference with the add-ons. We'll test it early next week on our in-house AWD dyno.

thanks

is it also made/ does it have the hole opening for any recirculating Dump Valve/blow-off valve? I have the forge red recirculating unit which i love , but its on my stock plastic induction pipe ...
