enough fluid?

enough fluid?

hey guys im in the middle of changing tranny fluid and im have read that the tranny needs about 2.7 to 3 qts. is that true for the 6spd also becasue i have put in bout 2.5 qts since i have a 1/2 qrt left over. im jsut tryin to make sure i have enough in there before i go on to something else

Although I dont know how much fluid you will need for the 6 speed id imagine it wouldnt be much different than the 5 speed. You need to keep in mind that it is hard to base the amount off volume as you will not be able to get all of the old fluid out.

With that being said the only sure way to fill it and know that you have enough is by filling it until it starts to ooze out. Also make sure that your car is completely level.

yea thats what i did....just plugged it when it started to come out...thanks for the help

6speed is 2.3 quarts I believe. I usually just start pumping fluid in until it starts running out. Then I'll let it drip for a minute or two until the drips become a few seconds apart. Then I'll take it for a spin and check it again.
