Tick tick tick

Ok I have done some searching but this is a two part question. I have an 06 MR. Cams, exhaust tune nothing major. I did my oil change yesterday Was a little lazy just put the front of the car on ramps... I used Mobile 1 10w30 and an OEM mitsu filter..

After I started the car up loud ticking. Louder than normal. I just thought oil had to cycle through. But Still loud even this morning..

2nd part.. The MR drain plug. It has that sensor on it. Seems that oil is seeping out of that fitting.. Anyone with an MR have this problem?

Did you check the oil level after you filled it up? How long did you run it? It might tick for a minute but once you rev it up a bit to bring oil pressure up, it should go away.

Yes oil level is good. Oil pressure gauge is reading normal so no issue from what it seems.. Just louder than normal.

I could be but why would they get louder all of the sudden. the only think I can think of is I did start the car when It was on ramps to make sure there was no leaks but I have done that in the past with no issues.. I will be putting some miles on it today so will see if it goes away. Anyone have any thoughts on the Drain plug?

Yea I have the same drain plug and it seeps a little oil. I think its just a crappy design. I hate the stock 3 gauges anyways, I may just pull them out. The tick is probably your lifters. Mine tick a little as well, I dont think its anything to worry about.

I ditched the Stock gauges so I guess I could replace with a non gauge drain plug? I will have to look up and see. I thought the tick could be the injector as well but i have always had lifter tick but this is just ALOT louder..

Its silly but is he car on the ramps with the hood up or level with the hood up. It would definantly be louder if your used to hearing with the hood closed. Just a uuumm *** umption =)
