6765 or 6262

Where do these two turbos spool on the 2.0L? I called PTE today and they told me to go with the 6765 over the 6262 to reach 600WHP at 6000' Elevation. Your thoughts?

You can do a search for my thread comparing my old 35r vs 6262 to see what spool is like on a 2.0L.

Sorry i don't have a graph to compare to a 6765 though

At 6000ft, the 6765 will be better for making 600whp. The 6262 will need to be worked harder, which will cause it to fail quicker. However, if you dont plan to use that power more than say, 50-60% of the time, you will be fine with a 6262.

Really depends on the setup and tune. heres your options:

A.) 6262- Will get you 600whp on e98, but the boost needed to make it will shorten its life depending on how often your making 600whp.

B.) 6765- Will easly get you 600whp on e98, the lower boost level needed to hit 600whp will give it a good life span. But the extra lag will make it less aggressive on the street.

Where does your turbo hit full boost and what size engine. I thought you were running a 2.3 right? There was a guy in abq running a 4088 also and it was quick but I don't know where he shifted and where it spooled. Plus he only ran 30psi and broke more than he had it running. This is going to be a decision for me also when I finally get my stuff together. I am thinking about the hta86 or the new one that FP is putting out that Mike@awd is testing.

I would love to see a single scroll gt35 based turbo vs a t4 gt4088 at this altitude, they also have that new t3 twin scroll 1.06ar housing that ETS just brought out.

Dude how many turbo threads are you going to make? I think in the past week or so you have had threads for a turbo kit for under $3k then a new thread for a turbo kit for under $5k. you decided on the 6262 in one of them so it seemed. Then you started a thread about 6262 vs fp black. now 6765 vs 6262..WTF.

Try doing a little searching. There are countless threads in this section and in dyno/tuning results to give you all the info you need on any of these turbos.

The HTA3586 would be a great turbo for your altitude. The 6765 is going to have a decent amount of lag for a street setup. You guys have that crazy high altitude.

That's is what I am doing... Research! I made up my mind on the turbo kit this last week and now I am narrowing down the Turbo. My budget changed so that's why I needed to find a cheaper kit. Hints the 5k thread and then the 3k thread.

I had a chance to pick up a Black over the weekend and that way I would not need to get a new kit. It would have saved me money, but I want power over 7500 RPM's. That's why I'm going T3. That's why I did the 6262 vs Black Thread.

Now with this thread, I called PTE yesterday and they told me to go with the 6765 over the 6262, WTF! So now I want to get the feed back on these two different turbo at high altitude.

You forgot to mention, the Education on PTE turbos thread that I posted. That thread help me the most I think. It talked about PTE and FP HTA turbos. I'm a big fan of the HTA's but I don't think the budget will allow.

So next time you want to do research here on the forum... Make sure you don't ask too many questions.

AH AH Dennis good reply. I think you post alot and maybe I should have done more research also.....but keep posting away bro.

Jasn:

I do have a 2.3 and it's been a while since I driven my car and when I did have it I only drove it for a month or so. I put a bunch of new parts on it that require a whole new tune so the data I have could be all wrong to what I will have here shortly. My car will be at the shop for the final time on Friday and we will be installing all the new parts shortly thereafter and then we need to do 2 tunes.....1 for emissions and then another for all out HP.

That is the turbo that I have decided on once everything is back up. I talked to DB and Mike@awd and they both said that the hta86 will give enough power and not have the lag of the 6765. I hate this altitude. Now I have to decide on CR to be able to utilize the power and cut down on lag as much as I can...
