Stock Gauge (Boost,Oil Pressure,Volt) Hook Ups

I have an odd request/question that I haven't been able to find in my searching.

I have recently begun to install my own Boost, Oil Pressure and Oil Temperature gauges into my 8. Boost and oil pressure are both done and I've read how to install the gauges properly on the oil filter housing. All that is done.

My question/request is wondering how the OEM MR gauges are installed on a car. How each one is installed exactly. Where they ran the oil pressure line/sensor and where they pulled the boost reading from.

I'm interested because I want my oil pressure and oil temperature senders to survive and was thinking if I could peek at the OEM job, maybe it'll give me some ideas as to how to run things properly and away from harm.

If anyone would be so kind to post pictures or pretty descriptive explanation about how each is done I would appreciate it. Once again, I'm looking for an OEM job, not someone who bought OEM gauges and then put them in the car themselves.

On My MR looked like the tapped off the Radio harness. The oil pressure is tapped into the oil pan right on the drain plug. I don't have a pic but there is a sensor on the end of the oil drain that runs up to a plug....

Sorry for asking this but I could not find an anwser to my question regarding the stock boost gauge hose. Basically, can the stock vacuum hose be used for an aftermarket gauge? Also, can 2 tee taps be installed into the FPR line where the stock one is and render an accurate reading(if I want to retain the stock gauge and still have an aftermarket one)?

I'm in the middle of preparing my boost gauge for install. I was thinking about using the stock boost gauge hose on my new Autometer gauge. I already took it off to see if it would reach with the Autometer single pod housing that sits on the top of the steering wheel and it does reach.

Would it be smart to use this line? Or could I install 2 tee taps into the FPR line next to stock tee tap (would this render a false reading on both gauges) ?

I used the stock like to my AEM boost sensor

tee'ing it and having a second boost gauge is kinda of redundant

most autometer gauges use a thin clear non-rubber line and use a lock nut that pressure fits the tube to the gauge housing...if you just had a brass barb you could use the stock hose

Yeah it is redundant, I just think it would look a little awkward with a non-functional gauge.

I forgot about the clear hose that autometer supplies. I do have a brass barb however.
thx chaotichhoax

Someone recently broke into my 05 MR and I found two red wires(coming from the back of the stock gauges) connected at the end but broken and three yellow(coming from the back of the stock gauges) wires together but broken at the ends. I'm not sure if you have any pics or not but I'm just trying to figure out where these go... Any help would be greatly appreciated
