Recomendations on spark plugs for my evo ix
NGK Iridium IX plugs for any 4g63(or any other high output gasoline internal combustion engine). They are going to be different for depending on what gen your engine is. I can't recall the part numbers for the E9, but the E8 uses NGK Iridium IX BR{insert heat range}EIX (for non-protruded electrode) or BPR{insert heat range}EIX (protruded electrode). Please keep in mind, that regardless of engine, non-protruded electrode plugs run in half heat ranges. A BR8EIX plug is actually 1.5 times colder than stock heat range (BPR7EIX). A BR7EIX plug would be a half heat range cooler than the stock heat range.
The NGK Iridium IX plugs are the best plug on the market, bar none. In my years as a dyno tuner, i did a lot of research and testing on many different plug types on a myriad of different platforms. The NGK Iridium IX plugs exceeded all other plugs in every category on every platform.

ITS RECOMMEND FOR EVERY 100HP OVER STOCK, 1 STEP COLDER
Here is a list I compiled from a few post:
NGK:
LFR7AIX - Stock Heat Range ($8.00 each sparkplugs.com), For those with local advance autos ($12.99 each)
ILFR7H - Factory Plug ($11.71 each sparkplugs.com), For those with local advance autos ($18.99 each)
R7437-8 - 1 Step Colder Racing plug ($41.52 each sparkplugs.com)
Denso:
IKH22 - Stock Heat Range ($11.95 each sparkplugs.com)
IKH24 - 1 Step Colder ($11.95 each sparkplugs.com)
IKH27 - 2 Steps Colder
Stock/Lightly modded cars I would use stock heat range.
Full Bolt-on/Swaped Turbo cars I would recommend colder plugs.
And how to read the plugs:

This is a good thread to keep everything together I think, so I'm going to add. This should be corrected in the first post!
Stock gap for IX plugs is 0.020 - 0.024. This is different from the VIIIs.. so us folks with IXs need to be aware of this when reading about what other people gap their plugs to. Below is from the IX service manual..

Here is application charts for Evo 8, Evo 9 and Evo 10 spark plugs. I got it from briskracing.com. I have them in my car and they work great. Before I ran the NGK R7437-8 spark plugs and I got tired of paying 140 bucks a set. The one's I bought from Brisk cost less and have already lasted much longer than the NGK's I was using before.
