The site says it works with the 4G63....what about 4G64?

 

No pieces, no lines. Three screws, factory cover off, Kiggly cover on. You'll see.

 

If it's a 4G64 with an Evo head then it should work just fine. It actually bolts to the head so it's not block dependent just head. There is a different one for the DSM setups.

I'm interested in this part too, but does it drop pressure to the turbo? Would it be better to move the oil feed to the filter port if this part is installed?

 

Ball bearing turbos need to be restricted so this part would not harm the turbo. I would use the FP oil line if you are running one of their turbos tho. The only thing I noticed is when I installed it my engine had been apart for months and all the lifters were dry, I could be me imagining it but It seamed like it took longer for the lifters to quiet down upon initial start up.

 

Any concern that it may not be cooling the valve train properly? It may not be a big issue with the relatively low lift we use, but on high end domestic motors, some companies use an oil feed in the valve cover that sprays oil on the valvesprings to insure they don't drop a valve from heat in the material.

 

^^^good point, but I think it's been tested by now and there would have been failures already to those using the product.


as kiggly said, they DO NO mitigate oil to the turbo/cams only to the lifters

I will be using one in my LR 2.4 as well

 

So I can install one with my turbo running off the oil feed in the head and not have to worry about it.

Mine gets here tomorrow, so I'll be installing it tomorrow or Friday. I'll post some pics of the install to show you guys how easy this is. I've had some issues before with the oil pressure dropping significantly after a WOT run or two and causing the car to stall making a slow speed turn into a parking lot. It was partly my idle settings but also because all the oil went to the head. This is cheap insurance if nothing else.

 

I decided to pick one up for my new build. I also picked up the Kiggly valve springs.
