engine lost power at track..car cut off
Well, I think you can see your problem with the piston in cylinder number two. Either it got so hot that the ring gap closed leading to that issue, or something finally just gave up the ghost. The head damage doesn't look severe. A machine shop should be able to check the deck and clean her up. I would suggest new valves and retainers while its already opened up.
How do the rest of the cylinder walls look? Still some cross hatching? If so, the block doesn't look in too bad of shape. Again, get a machine shop to check the deck and hone her out .020 over and start over fresh.
Sorry to see the damage, but at least you know what you've got to do. Let us know if we can be of any more assistance.

At 200,000 miles it could have been anything, it seems as if you were just due for something. The head damage doesn't look severe. A machine shop should be able to check the deck and clean her up. the block is still in the car and i haven't dropped it out yet..but when putting together do you guys think its easier to put it all together and drop motor in as a longblock...
or do like i pulled it apart and put in shortblock first than peice it together.?
keep in mind this is in a garage....no lift just muscle
well the car has 93k on it... I did post the two logs prior to this happening in my other post...but yea i plan on redoin it all...

Again, sorry about the confusion.
My apologies, I was talking to a guy the other day that had an engine failure and his had 200k. Too many threads about blown motors these days! I would get an engine hoist and stand and take the entire longblock and transmission out together, it is the easiest way. Sometimes you can rent a hoist and stand, but it is a good investment for future cars/projects too.
Again, sorry about the confusion.
