Great pic's, I did not know that a replacement Cat would give youa check engine light. I thought only a cat delete would. This is why I was confused.

Oh and here is my original dyno cat testing post using the Random 2.5".

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...+flow+cat+test

I tried to do some additional testing with the 3" Random but ran into some technical difficulties with the AWD dyno

I think the Buschur CAT is made by Catco, incidentally is identical to the model I chose for my malibu (Used two 3" Cats).. (No, my malibu no longer has Catalytic converters, it just turned 25 and will be exempt next year when it gets inspected..

If you want to find a good high flowing performance cat that is low profile, look at the products made for the Domestic V8 cars such as the Camaro or Mustang.. All of them should flow enough for any of our 4 bangers.. plus the higher they flow, the generally longer they are because the exhaust needs to be exposed to more surface area in the Cat to reduce the emissions adequately.

If their wide and short, they can generate internal restrictions due to turbulence....

FWIW, the guy I spoke with at Random told me they tested every type of cat they could find against the stock EVO cat, and this spiral metal substrate cat is the only one that flowed significantly better than the stock cat. This is all heresay of course, but my own limited testing seemed to agree.
IMO any cat that catalyzes as well as the stock cat will probably not flow any better either. Longer bricks=more restriction, IMO unless your willing to comprimise somewhat regarding emmisions, you mine as well stick with the stock cat. It really does flow extremely well for a stock unit, not suprising considering all of the other well engineered components put into this car.

Your probably right.. Aside from the size of the inlet and outlet I doubt the cat flows much better.. At least with the larger inlet and outlet, your not restricting the flow by reducing the size of the pipes, which must be worth something.

I personally think that the North American Tabby is the quickest, but I've heard of some white Persians that can haul *** when confronted with a bucket of water.

I amsuprised to see how long it took for somebody to have with with the wording of this post.

Seriously though, does anyone know what brand of catalytic converter is used in the Vishnu, RNR & AMS system?

I have a catco and the CEL to go along with it. Kastle's Korner sent me a CEL eliminator as part of a three person beta tester group and the first try threw a different code. They are working on another one to send me to try out, I'll will post back how it goes, but at least they are trying to get a fix for other Evo owners who have the CEL.

bullfrg, your. I am trying to sell this car. However, I still own it & am still going forward with my quest towards building it up if the funds become available.

Gaining evo 8 tuning knowledge isnt costing me anything, hopefully I can put it to good use & as well as anyone else reading these posts.

HELL, I still want to enjoy the car while I have it!

That is cool, I just thought maybe you had changed your mind about selling it. Do you have any more pics of your Evo? I am looking for one, I really want blue but silver is my second choice.
