I am trying to take apart a 6 speed transmission, but I am not having any luck separating the case apart. One of the shift rails still seems to be locked onto the case by one of the interlock *****/pins. I have been trying for days to get the ball to come out, with no luck.
I can hear the ball going back and forth.
Does anyone know how to take it apart or have a tech guide on how to do it?

Good Luck elhalisf.. I tried to get mine out Pulled and pulled nothing. I was afraid to really yank didn't want to break it. I can take pics of a donor trans i have with the shifter pulled out if it will help but I was not able to get mine to release. I also was not able to ever find any tech on the 6sp..

This tranny is much the same as 5 speed. The only trick is there are two rubber freeze plugs on end of tranny. They need to be removed. One is hiding a allen head bolt, the other hides a snap ring that needs to be held open to get cases apart. The shift rails are not holding the top case from sliding off.

Aside from that you really need the diagrams to dissasemble the shift rails to get the gearsets out. Its not simple like the 5 speeds. lots a small parts..
