springs and retainers??

i know it is recommended but is it necessary to change the retainers as well. i am planning on going with GSC S2 and a BBK full or B turbo and i want to upgrade the springs. i am looking in to the GSC springs or supertech.

another question i have is do i need to go with dual springs or will the single springs (beehive) be enough? what about the retainers? i do not plan on going over 8 to 8.5K rpm if that only at the drag strip. i never really see anything past 7K in the street anyway.

thanks guys

i did the single beehive GSC with stock retainers on my gsc s2 cams, which are good up to 9k rpms or a little bit more and are only $220 hope this helps

those are the same ones i'm currently looking at. i know that adding the titanium retainers reduces weight but is it needed and is the difference noticed? i do not plan to get the head ported yet i plan on saving that for much later. i would think that the single beehave springs should be enough but i want to hear from the community and see what the experience and opinions are.

on which car are you currently runnig that setup on? and how much do you usually rev to?

The stock retainers are aluminium I believe...And I would replace the retainers with the springs. Usually when you buy springs, they'll come with retainers unless otherwise noted.
