Good to hear some positive info on SBR's 2.4's. Thread for some things I'm looking for, for this build: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sa...new-build.html
I trust SBR enough to build my 2.4... plus they are offering a killer deal that saves you a good amount of money which is what you want.
My suggestions are def get rid of cometic, kelford 280's should work well for the 2.4.

I'll probably go with FIC 1650's, instead of 1450's, which should be good for at least 700whp with 2 255s. I never mentioned that I have a Forge RS BOV which was holding ~28psi, which I'll continue to use.
Any advice on the pistons? I was thinking to changing to Manley 9:0 after further thought, from 8:5.

I trusted SBR to build my 2.4, and that got me far.
But 1650's should be more than enough for your setup.
Also, go with either a 9.5 or 10:1 piston. e85 loves higher compression. Just make sure you have a good tuner for when you have to use 93.

What happened to your 2.4?

Things i sugguest you change
1. that crap HG please . Either use a Powerenterprises HG(www.horsepowerfreaks.com) 220+shipping or AMS custom like i have 150+shipping.
2. Cams not sure on the kelford 280s maybe get S2s
3. Definatly invest in a fluidampr and consider the Kiggly HLA
4. your not getting oil squirters right?
5. Add a Balance shaft eliminator kit
6. New pullies for sure both of them.
there are ways to get cost down but a 10k full build is not happening unless you get alot of used parts. for the long block you want it all new parts and thats where most of the money is going
BTW WELCOME TO THE FP BLACK 2.4 REVOLUTION WITH ME, MIKEY, NICKIE, JOHONNY, AARON, ACREE, BRANDON, AND MANY MORE. Look at our builds if you want to get ideal or learn more etc.

3) Why a fluidampr? I'm trying to cut costs, but somehow keep adding
I'll be picking up a Kiggly HLA.4) I believe SBR uses the oil squirters, but with/without them I don't really think makes a difference. Some people like them, some don't.
5) BS is removed as part of SBR's build.
6) I'll be getting new pulley's.
Thanks, I guess I'll be part of the Army here soon
Lol @ the Fp Black/2.4/e85 bandwagon..
I definitely wouldnt run the kelford 280s over the 272s on your setup.. You have a turbo that makes all midrange power and a motor built for torque.. Why would you throw a cam on there thats going to sacrifice low/mid range power for topend power that your turbo will never get to take advantage of?
Stick with the ported stocker.. The point of running a 2.4L Fp black setup on e85 is for quick spool and lots of torque, if you go with a manifold like magnus you'll justbe ruining your low/mid range torque. If you want something that makes good topend then sell your black and your 2.4 and buy an HTA86 and a 2.0 or 2.1L.

1) What/Where is this $150 AMS Custom HG? Powerenterprises is $220, anything less pricey?

1. the AMS HG you have to email/call them for it its unlisted and is a ask for only product. I listed the cheapest prices your going to find and both location

2. Why use a Fluidampr. Ask any of the major shops breaking records etc. They will tell you when they build motors its included. I guess if you want the technical answer
Each time the air/fuel mixture inside a cylinder is ignited, the combustion that occurs creates a torque spike that is applied to the crankshaft through the piston and rod. This torque spike is so severe that it not only turns the crankshaft, it actually twists the crankshaft ahead of its normal rotation and then the crankshaft rebounds.
This twisting action is known as torsional vibration. When these torque spikes and forces get into phase with the natural frequency, critical torsional harmonic vibrations occur and can be seriously destructive to the bearings and the crankshaft. Dampers are designed to control those destructive vibrations.
3. dont need oil squirters. takes oil away from the crank. This topic has been beat up on a 2.4 build not needed.
4. Good glad there is no BS.
5. Good call all new pullies and oil pump FTW
