Curious on what you spent on Just the Motor. Longblock with cams and intake preferred.

What Drew spent. I am too lazy to subtotal all of it but it looks like any of the motors we are doing right now are priced the same or less when you do everything and not just what most people consider the "short block" or "long block" crate engines.

Then cams, headwork, etc.

I will total it up but I dont think anyone is saving money like they think they are. It looks like these are just as expensive as any other 2.4 build currently being offered they are just broke down more so you think you are saving. I quote the total price of completed project so there are no hidden extras. In looking at this it looks like a classic nickle and dime to get to the same point.

When I was doing my research early this year between BR, ER, SBR, and GSC all of your short block prices were very close for a 4g64 2.4LR and 2.2LR note BR preferred the 2.3L 4G63, bc testing was still being done on the 2.4L 4G64. I don't have the exact quotes any more but I do remember that the GSC 2.2LR on the 4g63 was around 500.00 to 1500.00 more, depending on my crank and rod option for the 4g64. From what I remember you(ER) & GSC prices was more than fair and I preferred the overall pkg you guys used right away, while through other shops it would have to be a special order.

For the OP your prices are about right, but like rockmanx suggested you could hunt around for some deals to save your self like 20 bucks here and there. Like you said it all adds up.

I'm surprised I've never seen you in Downingtown. Nice setup. I'm building a 4G64 right now using an HX40. If you're at all handy you can cut that budget WAY down. I'm building my motor, designed and built my current turbo kit and even my double pumper. It's amazing how little I put into this car $$ wise for what it puts down.

The motor is 6091 by itself not counting shipping. Some of the parts are well below MSRP it seems as well, so that alters what most would pay for some of them. There are definitely some of these parts that I would change depending on overall power goals.

Still run the risk of a machined crank (not sure how common that is) an other assorted issues like HUGE ring gap.

Bare shortblock to bare shortblock, std rod to std rod we are around 500 more. As we start adding options is where things change. You do always know what you are getting with us though. The normal "shortblock" that we offer is in the vendor section, in my build thread, and I think somewhere in the NW section as well.

I am not here to threadjack this thread, so for more info just check out the above spots.

SBR 2.4 Stage III is $2,722, with no core needed plus $200 shipping. This is only the assembled shortblock with nothing else. I don't have a price for the longblock, since I have nothing built yet, nor any parts.
