So recently my car just started blowing blue smoke out of the exhaust. It only happens when i start the car, and when i take off from red lights and stop signs.. BUT the car still runs great.. just blue smoke.. anyway, decided to do a compression test..

Cyl #1: 140
Cyl #2: 125
Cyl #3: 50
Cyl #4: 70

For some reason it makes no sense to me, because the car still runs great, could it be my valve seals?.. any thoughts? thanks guys..

 

how many times did you do the test? Those results definitely don't look right.

Do it again make sure your not leaking you know tight seal.

 

Blue smoke is oil no doubt of that, so low numbers point out to blow by,,, however i hope thats not the case for you.

-Compression test it again making sure the engine is fully warm.
- if not satisfied with results, put some oil into the cylinders and test again, the oil will help seal the rings.

but looks like shot rings,, specially when you are saying that blue smoke come out when starting,,, i also bet you that at WOT you are blowing blue / white smoke out the back.
