AMS Cam Side Motor Mount

Hi Guys,

Wanna find out if anyone using the abovementioned motor mount inserts encountered any problems?

Coz mine after about 18 months, have cracked on the external & upon removal to check, found out that the internals has torn off too.

The transmission side mount inserts are fine.

Will post actual pics of my inserts lata today.

Wonder if AMS has got any feedback to it.

Appreciate any input.

Thanx
Victor

This is what I am using...

Some actual pics of my cam side mount...

Looks like the inserts has hardend & become brittle after some time in the engine bay.

According to Eric of AMS, he says its probably due to the leak of grease/ lubricant during installation...

I have been using the AMS cam side, transmission side & agency power front motor mount & till now only the cam side insert has turned bad...

Anyone with the same problem?

We have never seen a mount crack like this unless it was not properly lubricated when it was installed. If there is no lubrication and the mount is tightened, vibrations or movement can cause cracking from binding. In a warmer climate all year round it is always a good idea to lubricate these mounts when installing them. I would say that the mount is defective, but it lasted 18 months with no issues.

If it was not lubricated during installation it would have cracked from binding soon after its installed & not after 18mths in the engine bay. I dun see that happening to the transmission side mount...

If its a defective mount then shouldnt AMS send me a replacement set??
