When my trans goes, I'd definitely buy the upgraded rebuild unless its really really expensive. So far 90k and no issues. Its somewhat hard to commit to buying something if you don't know whether it's gonna be 3k or 10k.

Waiting for my trans to fail unless I acquire funds before that happens. Keeping the 6 speed is a primary concern for me. I must say though as much as I want this transmission, if the price is around 10k like the PFitzner upgrade(Aussie rally straight cut gears), I'm going to have to pass. That being said, I'm very interested as I trust Shep's work.

Michael, Australia- you can count me in, David Buschur dropped off my 6 speed for a rebuild at sheptrans last week!

edited for kiley- bud i purchased a 2nd hand 6 speed and sent it over to John, I figure I wanted him and his team putting this sucker together rather than someone else

and oh, I got a semi....

Dose Shepherd sell the gear set and final drive alone with out rebuilding the tranny??

I live in the middle east so shipping the tranny will cost alot of $$$$$

he will ship gear set as he orignally statedf he would do this for me, as I said I choose to buy a 2nd hand box stateside and send it to him- another 100-200 bucks max sea frieght to send it out is worth it.
Get a pallett sea freight- one pallet will cost a max 400-800 with port fees US$$ and you can fit a transfer case, rear diff and axles and probably a built motor on there too!!

Don't forget about 6th gear!!!!!

Let's put it this way......I bought the MR because of the 6 speed. So, yes I'm interested and need to know pricing. I would strongly suggest that something be done with the 6th gear. Do not leave 6th gear out of the equation. When upgrading your turbo to say an FP Black with e85, you could make anywhere from 600-700hp and 500-600lb/ft of torque. I feel it is pretty typical of the majority of people to be cruising in 6th gear at a decent speed and just step into the gas to pass without down shifting. This could bring on some serious torque and destroy 6th gear. I also want it to handle a top speed run on occasion.......I noticed in the first post, 209mph @ 8000rpm.......that would be my dream.......turned nightmare after the 6th gear crumbled.

Interest: Very Much!/Need to know what price will be.

If I wanted a 5-speed, I would have bought a GSR! I'm keeping my car a 6-speed! I look forward to any updates! Thanks!
