exedy twin: check the inspection hole. is this normal?
I check the inspection hole and see the fingers pulling but I can see those wavy o rings sort of just siting there. I thought they were suppose to help lock the throw out bearing to the clutch. if so I have yet to see them be pushed into the clutch by the throw out bearing

You have to be able to see the wavey rings because you have to wegde a screw driver between them (wedge collar) and the tob in order to dislodge it i thought...idk i dont have much experience with exedy twin set ups.
My only experience is with an exedy stock replacement clutch. I did it in my driveway (a nightmare of course). no lift, no engine hoist, just jack stands and man power. From what i saw, you always can see the wavey rings and the only time that they compress is when you are prying the clutch fork toward the drivers side pressing the TOB toward the pressure plate. The only time you want to do this is when (like omniprobe said) you are disconnected the TOB from the pressure plate via breaking the wedge collar free.
Other than that, the purpose they serve is to have pressure on the wegde collar ring and the pressure plate to hold the wedge collar assy in place. My info is based on my driveway experience so anyone feel free to correct any misleading information please.
