Best CoP kit
Ohh my bad I was just name some of the product I actually don't have it on my car just yet my choice is between sparktech and okadaprojects they seem to be the best out there right now ams is a good product but too pricey imo
Spoolinup or Sparktech if your looking for a Non-CDI. I've seen nothing but good things from both of them, I've been running the SparkTech for a year or so now and absolutely love it.
I was curious as well so I sent them an email and asked. Reply I got was "The coils used in this system are Spark Tech spec, the rest is proprietary". Thanks ST for the quick email response.
It basically stated that it's private information and I understand from a business standpoint their response. They use new coils with all their systems that's about all we will ever know I guess.
My stay in this thread will be brief. We work hard to bring quality products to market, we do lots of testing and work with the biggest names in the industry. This is a full time business for us, not a sideline hobby. Of course this comes with a price tag, this is how we pay our bills. Our coils are warrantied for 2yrs...the longest of any other kit on the market.
We are the only ones that offer a Sequential non-cdi kit for use with standalone ecu's...further proof we are leaders in the COP market. That to will soon be copied. Also since we are on the topic of the word NON-CDI...that phrase was coined right here at S/T...to differentiate between our CDI based systems. Others have tried to attach themselves to the name trying to ride off our success.
Just the other day we had a customer return his system it was over 1yr old. He complained it misfired at 4000rpm. When we got it and tested it sure enough it did.
2 coils were weak (hence the reason we don't offer used coils) the other 2 were working well but also a bit weak. We simply replaced ALL 4 under warranty. These coils normally sell for $98 each so i'd say he got a Great deal and the extra $$ he paid for the S/T brand has served him well.

If I hadn't gotten a hell of a deal on this Dynatek and coils and loved the way it worked, I would have chosen Spark Tech merely for their warranty service but also with all the companies and shop cars they sponsor. They pump a lot of money (and give good discounts last time I asked for a quote) into the forums here and they are always around for support. So, if my ignition ever craps out; the new one will be a Spark Tech.
I run the Spoolinup kit and a good buddy of mine runs the Sparktech Non CDI both on IXs. I selected my coils from a Toyota Yaris for my kit and the Sparktech used the exact same Denso coils. To be honest, the only physical difference is the quality of the plate that mounts the coils to the valve cover. I ran mine in stealth mode to hide the coils where my buddy liked the Sparktech bling and left the coils exposed.
Therefore, from what I have experienced the added price of the Sparktech Kit for the IX gets you a nicer adapter plate and NEW coils. I chose to source my own coils and fab my own plate so I had ~$200 in the setup. My buddy wanted the bling so the extra money was worth it to him. I even offered him a spare plate I made and tested on my car, but he wanted the bling.
Personal preference FTW!

I went with the SpoolinUp kit and love it. I'm running 11:1 compression, 30 psi of boost and wanted the security of a COP system. The SpoolinUp kit is top quality and works great.
