Ok, so I have the forge DV with the blue spring currently in. I'm running stock boost but really don't like the noise it's making. I have a red spring, green, and yellow. In order to make the sound less of a skreetch- which spring should I load in there and how many shims?
I've read most of these threads but couldn't find a conclusive answer to which spring will cause the least amount of purging.

I have the 1G crushed. Slight compressor surge/flutter when letting off the gas at low speed in a higher gear. Holds all the boost I throw at it with no leaks or fluctuation. My upgrade will be to the TurboSmart dual vent valve if I get tired of the economical/practical 1G.
I visited blowoffvalves.com and noticed that the site didnt have a sound clip or video for the Greddy Type-S for an Evo.. Only on other cars like the Supra. Now I know that diff cars have diff sounds for the same bov.. but I guess it'll give me a slight idea of how it will sound on my Evo.. I'll still continue and see if I can find a specific clip.. I should com across it pretty soon. If anybody can help, I'd appreciat it... Thanx!

What does compressor surge sound like? Can you guys describe it (ppl that have heard it before)?
I've got a HKS SSQV on my '95 GSX with VTA (and was going to go with the same on the EVO, but not with the claims of compressor surge) and it seems to work fine. I'm just not sure what compressor surge sounds like. The valve does flutter under low boost, but that's supposed to happen because of the two valve set up.
Thanks
Joey

gfb bov, is nice, but you know whats funny, gfb doesnt even sell one for an evo through their website, maybe you guys should wonder that, seriously dont buy from someone else if the own maker doesnt even have it on their website, hks is bad ***, bought mine and installed myself, with a little help from a shop around the corner, greddy was my #1 choice because i heard really good things, but the hks sounds nice, they make a recirculation kit if you dont want to vta, and it will shut up the noise and get really good quality. greddy doesnt have recirculation kit but i believe you can do that, these two are the only bov i would recommend for the evo just because i know off hand that they are good from an experience of hks on my car and greddy on my buddies evo, no stalling problems either.
has anyone tried the APS dual vent BOV?....wondering if there was any idle issues with this one?
It looks VERY promising, but would like to know if anyone has had any experience with this it....
supposedly has a primary that vents to intake and secondary (on hard acceleration) that VTAs.....so you get a little bit of both worlds....sound and reliability....

LOL, the reason they dont make a specific bov for the evo is because the 5335 adapter is all you need and you can get them with the adaptor for 300 bucks from many places. Its the biggest bang for the buck bov out there, its built as good and better than most. Sounds great (not ricerish at all) and definately dosent have the driveability issues that alot of bovs are having on the evo. Great BOV for anyone considering it, you wont be dissapointed at all.P.S the evo is listed in the pdf cataloge they have on their webpage, it explains which 2 models will work.
