I have the APS valve, it recirculates and vents and I have had no issues at all with it.

I have the HKS SSQV and it holds boost just fine. It does idle rough because it is VTA but I can just get the EDIS to get the idle to stabalize. I probably wouldn't know what compressor surge is if it hit me in the face. I do know that the car runs fine and it doesn't loose any boost and i am at 22 psi. No leaking and I wouldn't change it. The noise is awesome and I haven't had any other problems than the rough idle.

I agree. Thousands of miles, has not stuttered or stalled. Sounds great.............

June 2003 Sport Compact Car Magazine tested a majority of the DV/BOV valves on the market.

I have never seen an HKS Racing Type II BOV. DO you have any pictures of it. Have you ever used it? What is the difference between that and the HKS SSQV.

Thanks

Smokey

HKS Racing Type II BOV is made for race applications. It is able to handle high boost applications without any problems up to 40psi. The only other BOV that i know of that can hadle boost that high is the Greddy Type R but doesnt look at good as the HKS.LOL..The design of it is totally different from the SSQV. I just ordered one and should be here by friday and i will install it this weekened. From what i heard and read it is a great BOV. Check out the pic below!

How are you gonna say HKS sounds like ***? Have you heard all the different inserts you can get for the HKS SSQV? I highly doubt it. Have you heard the HKS Racing Type II BOV?? And agian like it was said above different strokes for different folls! Oh ya and for most of us the sound is just half the story. If you really think about it its more important that the BOV is a high quality BOV instead of the way it sounds. I would rather my BOV sound like S*** then my turbo go out becouse i have a good sounding BOV. Food for thought!

I tried the Blitz valve.. get the heavy spring, mine would give out a loud fart when it blew off under boost (at about 19.5psi).. I put the 1G back on until I can get the flange for the SSQV I ordered.. I honestly don't know if there was anything wrong with mine though..

I HATE the sound of the loud valves.. However, the SSQV uses a design that will never leak under boost, and I have too much trouble with other valves leaking under boost so I figured I'd try this one.

We'll see, I'm on my third different valve trying to find something that doesnt surge, and doesnt leak under boost, and doesnt whistle or open partially under vacuum..
