As the title says I have a rattle in my ams high flow cat that happened right after my ic pipe popped off my intake maini. It sounds like a bolt jumping around inside the cat but I think it's just coincidence and the "guts" of the cat are falling apart. My question is does anyone else have a ams highflow that rattles or did rattle and what was the remedy?? Thanks guys I hope I posted this in the right spot

 

I would remove the cat to see whats going on inside and see if there is any material that has been damaged. Also how old is the cat?

 

I havent had the time to pull the cat off yet but the cat itself has been on the car for about 3 years now. The car is now throwing the p0420 code which really makes me think something happened internally in the cat, as i have never had that code before the noise started.

 

What caused the ic pipe to pop off? So after it popped off it started to rattle? Or after you hooked it back up to the intake it started to rattle?

 

The car is tuned and running 27psi and still has the stock hose clamps it popped off under full boost but I didn't notice the rattle untill I got the car home that night because I was to worried with getting it off the highway haha.

 

sounds like its time for the AMS Test Pipe, LOL...

 

I've thought about their test pipe but I've read that's a federal offense?!

 

its only an offense if you get caught get the test pipe its fits in the same spot at the HFC and its pretty cheap. plus it does make the exhaust note sound pretty
