Many ???

Well I have been wanting an EVO since 2003 , but many things were priorities at the time so , I just continued working on Nissan SR20 powered stuff , well to make a long story short I was gone on home on leave when a guy I know from where I am stationed put his up for sale , but by the time I found out and called him he sold it ( earlier that day ) so then the bug bit again so I startded looking around again a bit , and well I found one I really wanted in silver my favorite color , and well I bought it , and now on to modding it , I have been reading for the last few weeks , and I am in the need of some long time evo owners opinions ...the car has a built motor ....but it is running a flashed stock ECU right now , with 780cc injectors and a EVO 9 turbo with a coated stock manifold .......I am undecided weather to go to the AEM EMS ( they are really cheap used on here ) or just work witht he stock ECu and possibly go speed density , I am looking for exelent drivability and good power.....I was leaning on using my spare (fresh center section ) GT35r , but I am seeing alot of good results from guys using the FP RED or Black turbos , also I have had great luck with t he SC6262 , I use on on my current nissan as well , I have also heard great things about the PTEs 57mm billet , I am looking for around 500whp with decent spool , but somthing bearible to drive daily if one choose to , I thought I would bouce some questions of those duing what I hope to acomplish with this car , and as for T3 manifolds and such I have a friend that has done alot of the fabrication on my nissan stuff he is the owner of www.Lovefab.com and he cant wait to get his hands on the car , we have alreaddy been pricing intercooler core's and such , I have a spare Spearco one in the garage ....but I would rather somthing the size of the BR race core , the one I have is a little smaller ....what I am really looking for is just some people advice on the plus's and minus's of the different setups .....thanks Eric

Do you know what is inside the engine? Different people have WAY different descriptions of "built" engines. The stock ECU will be more than enough for your goals, 500whp is a cakewalk nowadays for an evo. What fuel are you planning on running? If you could do a current mod list that would be helpfull.

Im sorry, but that is one long sentence. There isnt one single period lol. I usually wouldnt post about this but i thought it was funny. Longest sentence ive ever seen.

But, i would suggest the fp black. Very decent spool and it would get you your 500ish hp with the supporting mods to go along with it of course.

edit: wait, its making 550whp on the stock evo 9 turbo...?

it was over 500whp before , when it was first listed. It is now 360whp and 390ftbs on the EVO 9 turbo....

I remember looking at that thread back in 2009.

only prob is I alreaddy have a gt35r ....or I could pull the SC6262 off my SR20vet and put the 35r back on it , and then run the 6262 on the EVO .....but I think the gt35r on the EVO would be great

as some said the stock ecu is fine but if your more comfortable with an aem then go for it. Drivability will be as good as stock if you know what your doing. Me personally i prefer stand alones but thats just me. Stock ecu has more than proved itself.

6262 is such a great turbo. On the other hand a 35 is still a good turbo (yeah theres better technology now but the 35 is still a solid turbo to this day). Either one should hit your goals
