What can be done to improve throttle response and reduce turbo lag?

Coming from an all-motor gsr, one thing i noticed immediately when switching to the evo8 is that the throttle response isn't as good. Is the reason for the poor throttle response because of the turbo lag? If so, what can i do to reduce turbo lag?

You will find it difficult in MOST turbo cars to have instantaneous response. However, once the fun starts then it can get pretty exciting.

On the other hand with the right compliment of parts response can be reduced. I honestly think manufacturers should start using more ball bearing type turbos. Unfortunately, these turbos are expensive, but they really spool much faster than standard turbos.
