Thumping sound coming from right front wheel

So, I have had my evo now since 2007 and starting last winter (i know, i know) i have been having a thumping sound coming from the right front wheel. It only makes the sound when i turn and i looked under the car and the control arm and axle appear to all be in tact. Any diagnosis' from anyone would be awesome and the last thing i need is an extremely expensive repair. I have two sets of wheels, a set of Enkei GTC 01 that i put on this past june, and the OEM Enkei's. It makes the sound no matter what set i have on. Please let me know if i am being too vague adn would like me to try and ellaborate more on this.

Also, it doesnt really do it all the time and before i go to a shop and pay to have it looked at id like to hear what the great minds on Evom have to say first.

Thank you all!

how many miles on your ride....my guess if your tie rods have no play, id say more then likely bad strut/strut mount....check ur upper strut mounts to see if there all cracked on the rubber...

to make it easy on you to diagnose heres what you do jack up the vehicle on the right hand side where the pinch weld is (ie if you dont know look under your vehicle by the side skirt and its the metal line facing towards the ground), after youve jacked it up, shake the tire and wheel assembly up and down(12 o clock to 6 o clock) see if you can feel any play, then after shake the tire from left to right ( 9 o clock to 3 o clock) and see if you can see any play, that will diagnose most of your front end, now if your front end is tight, look for popped ball joints, the upper mounts like i said, and if there all tight spin the wheel on the right front and listen for noise, and if that checks out, then inspect the tire for any type of seperation, meaning the tread starting to come off the tire...
good luck

well ask any car professional and on most factory cars they should be replace at 50,000 or sooner if leaking...so i wouldnt rule out the strut....

I had the same issue. What fixed it for me was the nut under the cover at the top of the strut was backing off. I tightened it up and it went away.

You don't have to take the strut brace off. Sounds like your strut mount is worn.
