Over Sized Valves Some Questions
I am about to build the F*** out of my motor, well not that much but gonna build it pretty good I am having the head ported and doing the works my question is are the over sized valves worth it? My plans for the motor are a 2.2LR ported stock head port matched stock intake and exhaust manifolds and a fp red, might upgrade to a black

I'd buy Buschur's race head, 2600 bucks isn't that expensive in the grand scheme of things.
Also some may not really take this into consideration, but not only does a ported/polished etc... head make more power, if done correctly, it will aid in the spooling of your turbo, so you make more power sooner, which is always win in my book.

I am not looking to spend that kind of money at this time in my life, I just don't have it. I am looking to make good reliable power with a reasonable cost. I would love to just call Bushur up and have him set me up with the best long block he had but I don't have that kind of money. Therefor I am trying to get the best build for my budget and information makes power!!! I am using a 4g63 block out of a 03 evo
By the time you get all the machine work done and parts you might as well buy the buschur head. you can't just throw in bigger valves and call it a day. Just cause your "doing it yourself" doesn't mean its gonna be cheaper.
Get proven parts and you get a better result. I don't understand how you can say your gonna build the f*** out of your motor and still use a stock head

I am having a very reputable local race shop port my head, with supertech duel valve springs ti retainers, the works also having it port matched to my intake, exhaust and hotside. the buschur head is a ported and built stock head casting therefor I am accomplishing a similar result to their head for effectively half the price. sure you will probably see better gains with the buschur part but I would rather gain the information and actually build my car not pay someone else to give me the same parts that every evo owner with too much money has already bought.

How many cars does buschur have in the 9's? Just saying. Most people go after the parts that are proven time after time. Not just cause they have "too much money".
So your saying you'd rather spend your money on something you don't think will give you as good of power gains your looking for just so you can say you built it yourself? That's the first I heard that. To each his own I guess. Id like to see what gains you make from the head though (not being sarcastic)
