to be honest my car never ran right on 91 octane since it was built, and is close to 10.1 comp ratio. it would always want to knock if i tried to spool it too soon,it wasn't till just before i made the switch to e85 that i discovered that i needed to change the knock maps for my engine, and i have seem to lost 90% of my logs so i don't have any from before. i thought for the longest time there was something wrong with the car, but now it is on e85 and 0 knock all the way!! its weird the car just seems to sing a beautifully wicked song now! this turbo seems to love the 23-30 psi range and i would highly recommend porting it

sorry man i do not plan running 91 in this thing anytime soon, and i could almost never get a good knock free pull fron 3500rpm or below it would just go on a knock a thon, i had to adjust the knock maps in low rpm just to keep it happy, now that im running e85 its ben knock free since, ive even turned the knock tables back to stock.
more updates to come i blew apart my upper ic piping trying to hit 32psi and it took out the plastic hose barb on my 3port so i have to replace that next.

I have a similar crack in the housing of my tomei arms turbo. They didn't ask any questions? You just sent it in n they gave you a new one....
Who do I contact for this? Any help would be awesome!
Awesome #'s by the way. Im in Utah w/the a high elevation and when I port my stock mani and turbo and get a nice o2 housing im hoping to be around 380-400

Hungry crank
So after about 15k good times weekend only miles and my last trip to auto club speedway the motor began to knock pretty bad on the 2nd lap of the last session so I pulled into pits and towed her home. And this is what I found.

Not really sure what caused this. I did notice that with no spark plugs in and rotating the crank there is a point that feals like binding I then notice that the timing belt was getting slack while rotating past that pont. Perhaps the oil pump went to crap

I just can't understand where all this brass/gold colored material came from. Between the oil filter oil pan and pick up it looks like enough material to make all new bearings yet it doesn't appear that there is that much missing from the rod bearings.

gold comes from the bearings... you have a lot to change, and you problems might have come from a multitude of sources... bad oil pump, bad balance shaft bearing.. etc..

Oh and oil is redline 10w30 with about 50 miles on it. Normally I use a 20w50 weight oil but this is all I had available at the time.

Check the turbo for shaft play. I had a stock turbo go bad and make metal like that. Also the metal could be from balance shaft bearings, or the main bearings. You only have the rod bearings there. Those rod bearing def took a beating though. How does the crank look?
