I agree with this and believe that the idiocracy is directly proportional to the value DSM cars have taken in the past 3-5 years. Now, to us these cars are in-valuable but to most it's a cheap (Free to Few thousand $$) way to get in on the action. In all honesty I seriously considered not even getting an EVO since eventually this car will also suffer the same fate and be nothing more than a cheap fast car that kids will refuse to respect. Even more unfortunate is the fact that this disrespect will also be aimed towards the majority of other "real" car enthusiasts causing incidents like these to be commonplace. The thing you fail to realize in this whole thing is the that "most" current EVO owners were once, or still are, DSM people. Gee I wonder why that could be?

I've been to the shootout for the past 6 years. I'm glad to know that I've only been a dick for 3 of those shootouts. Thanks, JRod!

Oh yeah, I was in the Econolodge parking lot last year swapping a transmission in an AWD DSM, and then swapping the center diff out of one into the other. Good times. Guess I wasn't a dick last year since I was helping out a friend that night.

Hey Bill, thanks for introducing me to the Millennium Force!

Alright guys,

This sucks!!!!!!!!!!!

First off Jarrod called me first thing this morning and sounded sick. He told me he needed to talk to me when I came in (I am at home until 1 pm on Tuesdays with my kids). I asked what the problem was, he said he just needed to talk to me that he REALLY Fu**** up. I didn't know what to think, I asked him, "What did you do?" He said he made a post that got blown out of proportion and he was trying to fix it. He told me he was really sorry and had on idea what he was thinking when he typed it. He told ME that he didn't mean it the way it came across. I told him not to worry about it and I would check it out when I came in.

Well I couldn't wait. I am at home and I went through all of it. I don't know where he made this post in the first place but it looks as if someone clipped it and copied it? It doesn't matter.

I for one surely can't get to mad at anyone for saying something they shouldn't have. I have gone as far to publicly threaten to kill some of my competitors in the past. I was WAY out of hand more times than I can count. Since then I have lost some of the passion I think and with that gained a family and called down. Now I am more worried about making everyone happy then I was then. Back then it was my way and point of view or the highway.

I'm 37 now, wife and two kids. Jarrod is 23, single, into the entire Import movement than anyone else I personally know. Jarrod is also the shop clown, he is constantly saying things that has us all in tears. All in all I have to say I haven't met too many guys in my life that I like as much as I do Jarrod. Should I fire him? Nah. Did he make a mistake? Hell yes he did. Do I personally see where he is coming from? Hell yes I do.

I think looking at his post what he should of said is "As I was driving my pimped out Focus through the Econolodge parking lot full of DSM's some dick yelled at me and made fun of my car. The next day I saw this same dick fixing his transmission in the same parking lot, serves him right."

This he probably would have gotten away with. The thing I see that he did wrong is said that 90% of them were dicks when he actually had problems with 1 person one time. I have done the same thing. I am sure that most of you have grouped an entire group or even RACE of people together because of one person that ticked you off. Ever say "Women have no right on the road, look at this dumb Bi***, go already!!!"

I'm not trying to make excuses, just trying to possibly make you all understand that knowing Jarrod he didn't actually mean what he typed word for word.

I am going to kick him in the *** for it when I get to work though.

I apologize to anyone this may have offended, especially you DSM guys that HAVE made myself along with my business what I and it is today. Without the DSM's I would still be in some hot sweaty steel mill wondering if I would have a job tomorrow. I owe 90% of what I am to the DSM world and what they have allowed me to accomplish over the last 15 years. This isn't some sorry *** statement, this is a fact and I for one will not forget where you have all taken me.

Hope we can put this behind us.

Not to worry, Dave. The statements made by an employee don't diminsh your cababilities or your accomplishments. As a dsm owner, I know of both breeds that are mentioned in this thread. There are the guys who are ****** and guys who will bend over backwards to help a stranger. Why?? Because most of us have been there before. From my experiences it it usually the guys who have purchased a built car that have a crapy attitude. The guys who have owned the car for years, wrenching and sweating over time to get to level that they are at today treat this more as a passion than a hobby. That is the kind of guy I see you to be David. You took something you love to do and turned it into a succesful business.
JRod-I am not too hurt by your comments (although exagerated somewhat. I know some guys that own dsms that I am embarassed that they own the same type of car as myself, whether it's a crappy attitude or just no appreciation for the car. To tell you the truth, If I saw a focus with a Buschur sticker, I'm sure I would have a comment to say, but it would probably be along the lines of them not making part for the focus or needing a daily driver like that guy has . I would say the same no matter what the vehicle, but the bottom line is that you are supporting a good name. Just don't **** off too many of the clientele.

Thanks for the insight slowtsi.

One last thing on this, then we can all move on I hope.

When I got to work I asked Jarrod where he had posted something that stupid and how it got copied and put here. He told me he typed it, submitted it and then realized immediately he was a dumb *** and it didn't sound like he meant it to. He went in to edit the post, which is what you see above the clipped post. By the time he said he got it edited and took all the dumb crap out someone else had already seen it, clipped it and posted it in his reply.

I guess I am trying to say he knew he messed up as soon as he proof read it, so his apology shouldn't seem as empty as it was taken.

Thanks again everyone,
David Buschur

I really hope Dave is going to kick you in the nuts for this one.
Well, I don't work for buschur so I will not back peddle to save face, and I own a dsm. Many DSM owners are outrageous egotistical DICKS!!! Jerod may have to clean it up to appease Dave's customer base, I simply will not.

The guys at buschur are awesome, however they can't be held hostage or accountable for how MANY that attend such events conduct themselves. Hell they are even egotistical DICKS online. What makes you think they are any different out in public,in large numbers and intoxicated? You want a sample of DSM Dick heads run over to NABR and read a few posts.

Thanks Al. haha

We aren't going to move the shootout anywhere else. The track we hold it at is only about 8 miles from us.

Also, no rental cars.

Turbo Weapon, wow, how do you really feel? Want a job? You and Jarrod could type together. Just kidding.

All we wanted to hear, Dave. I believe you are proud of your business and accomplishments - as you should be - and would get offended if someone said that 90% of Buschur Racing are dicks - while basing that coment on one single post one of your employees made. It's the same with many old-school DSMers coming to Shootout and racing their cars since times Jarrod had no idea they even existed.
I agree that the percentage of dicks greatly increased even in the DSM community since our cars have become extremely affordable to every high school TF&TF wanna-be with a few hundred bucks, but the majority of true DSMers attending the Shootout are still the same friendly, helpful, knowledgable and honest people with good manners.

As for Turbo Weapon's ignorant comment regarding NABR, I don't really think it deserves a reply...

Dave, since Norwalk doesn't have their schedule posted, do you know if the SC event is going to be held on the same weekend? It's possible you planned to have it seperately, as the town was torn up before.

Thanks,

Gleason, the Evo 7 actually belongs to a guy named Victor Brandt who is from Alabama. It's legal (I think) as he drove it from AL to the ShootOut. I will chime in for Jarrod because as I was washing my Blue Evo at Norwalk's .25 pay and spray he pulled up and introduced himself to me and my brother. He's a good guy and I proceeded to buy a BR intake and Hallman BC from him while at the ShootOut. Finally, let's face it, deep down we're all kind of dicks.
