2004 12th Annual DSM/EVO Shootout
2004 12th Annual DSM/EVO Shootout
I just got confirmation from Norwalk Raceway Park, we have a date already for the 12th Annual DSM/EVO Shootout!
Mark your calendars, plan your vacations, you don't want to miss out on this!
August 15th, 2004.
The DSM Shootout is something I started over 11 years ago just out of love for the DSM's. It started out with 8 guys getting together and we had our own staging lane for a night of grudge racing. The next year we had the same thing, one lane just for the DSM's at the track, 16 cars. The next year it grew to 48 cars. From then we had to do an actual track rental, it was getting to big. We use to rent the track on Fridays during the day, then it got to big for that too. For the last two years it has been so large we had to do a Sunday rental.
The Shootout is just a great time. People who have come for years just can't wait for the next year. They plan their entire family vacation around it.
This year, 11th Annual 2003, we invited the EVO's to come out. This was basically a last minute thing and to my surprise we had over 20 EVO's there. Really nice to see some new blood.
My plans for this year are to offer two seperate classes for the EVO's. One will be for anyone who is still running the stock turbo the other for guys that have upgraded. There are also bracket classes for guys that don't want to run heads-up.
Keep this in mind it truly is a great time. Al was there for the first time and the enthusiasm he had was almost overwhelming, I think that is why I like the guy so much!
Any comments, questions or words of wisdom are more than welcome. Please ask or comment here so we can keep this close to the top for all to see.
Thanks a lot.

Correct, Norwalk Raceway Park.
There are a few motels I would recommend I would also recommend calling as soon as you can and getting reservations. The Shootout guys usually fill them up quickly.
There is:
Econo Lodge 419-668-5656
Best Western 419-663-3501
Amerihost 419-663-1922
These are all about 5 miles from the track and close to Kmart, Walmart, Burger King, McDonalds, Arby's, Ponderosa, Pizza Hut and many other places to eat.
