As mentioned earlier, I have proven 10whp on the dyno with better crankcase ventilation. This either means going with something like Hal's vented oil cap or larger fittings (-10AN) in the valve cover. The smaller stock nipples in the valve cover are not enough.

ya i noticed a difference big time man as far as overall car behavior goes. did yours feel more free when you did the mod? mine feels like it is more peppy now and less held back.

It also leads to more unmetered air entering engine if you are still using the maf.

my setup is sealed catch cans and i use check valves so no it doesn't.. and im still seeing 14 in/hg vacuum at idle.. nothing changed vacuum wise, if anything its better.

what do you think is unmetered in my setup?

Oh ok. Your setup is fine then. Im talking about the catch cans with the little air filter on it lets in unmetered air.

Yeah and it was nice to see actual dyno proof too. My trap was also faster by 1-2 mph when testing Hals vented cap at the track.

I'm not using the MAF but if I was, I would run the top of the catch can back to the intake and make it a sealed system.

I think all those guys running the vented can are speed density.

ya definitely. im just glad it stopped the oil issue. that was my main concern. I did edit the ISCV alittle also, that may have helped the car a bit also, but the crankcase issue is gone. i bet the dipstick wont even come out now if i remove the retention spring.

"The space in the engine compartment is limited at best and requires the removal of the AC compressor and related tensioner and support bracket. The VP100 Sportsman Vacuum Pump bracket bolts directly to the block using the AC support bracket/tensioner threaded holes."

Are you going to remove your Air Conditioning? I am interested to see how this system works out for you.

Heres a diagram just flipped.. the way the arrows are pointing is the way the check valves should allow pressure to pass.

Also I mentioned what I used in this thread its scattered, but heres exactly what I did.

Check valves were http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/ite...6844&catid=489

3/8 hose on intake side and 5/8 on valve cover > turbo side

So no check valves on the turbo/maf pipe side? I drew up my catch can setup last night and put 2 1/4" check valves in on the pvc/intake manifold side and 2 3/8" check valves in on the turbo/maf pipe side....sound about right?
