good info thanks man. so would this be a good comparison then? pb blaster vs aerokroil is like comparing wd40 to brake cleaner when cleaning out metal shavings and etc? is it that extreme of a difference?

i had him check the timing on the gears/crank etc, because ive experienced a issue similar on another customer but everything checked out perfect. i asked him who did his work he said you so i figured id put it up here :P If you want, anyone i tune in your area i can refer them to you if you want the business for bolt on / maintenance work etc.

im sure i can get a lot of work thrown your way. turbo installs, injectors, etc.. easy stuff.

if ER cant find your rear subframe maybe mike@awd has something?

Mike is pretty good to me and he was the first person I asked. He didn't have anything.

The Evo 8 and 9 coils are the same just swap out the boots. Im pretty sure his timing is spot on. We double checked it and rotated the motor by hand and checked again. As I do with every car. If for some reason its off send him back as I will fix it. I back up my work if I mad a mistake. He has m3 cams in that car. And a qm clutch. Not the best things for a sensitive knock sensor but that car oddly with no tune freaking moves.

Thanks for the refferal on the work. Ib be glad to take it.

crap you're right.. my bad i was getting him confused with another person. he has cosworth m3 cams 280/272. ya your timing is dead on, no worries man.. had him check it and he sent me pictures its 100%.

pm me info you want me to give to customers in your area for installations and ill give it to them and refer you to them.

Ya his cars a freak so far. 351/356 @ 23psi only on 9 turbo. i think we might crack 400 on 93oct with his car.. thats with only 8* timing uptop. he had 3 people in the car on this pull.

i wouldnt go that far, but the difference between pb and wd40 is smaller than the difference between kroil and pb. its enough of a difference to make it worth buying. and 1 can will last as long as 2 cans of pb blaster. it goes a long way.

OS Giken makes some of the strongest and best designed + most reliable parts in the world. They are legendary for their RB26 parts. I would not be concerned about your clutch - you shoulda taken my advice in the first place with that QM unit

btw - those BR rear diff mounts + mustache bar are sick!! i know of a rear subframe for sale - check your PM

I'm actually still kinda stumped why poor Dan had such issues with the QM when plenty of other s have had better success even though it is not the most ideal clutch for street use...................Dan have you sent it back to QM or are you just completely "over it"

I have no idea what the deal was with it. I am done with it for now. If the OS burns up then maybe I will try there new version clutch. As for the one I had I gave it away to a friend.

No problem man. I'm really interested in seeing how that works out for you. I'd be interested in doing something like that.

Dan, if that happens again, (or if someone else is in the same problem) call around to a machine shop or tool and die shop until you find one with an EDM. They can disintegrate the broken bolt (or tap, or whatever you have stuck) without damaging the aluminium subframe.
