Whats the durability and reliable power limit of the stock 4G63 crank versus the stock 4G64 crank?

Stock 4g63 crank, 6's in the 1/4 mile and 200+ mph. Shepherd's engine I built when he ran 7.7's at 197 mph in an AWD had a stock 2 liter crank in it.

That is crazy fast...

What is the point of going aftermarket then? Is it just an option if you dont have a good stock 4g63 crank?

Weight is one advantage to most aftermarket cranks. Some have better oiling then factory cranks. Its hard to argue against the worth of factory 4g63 cranks though.

Stock crank has more than proven itself for sure. Brought up the topic for conversion's sake. It is amazing how many options we have as Evolution owners for so many parts. Some of the aftermarket cranks out there are nothing short of pieces of art I swear.

I guess it all depends on what you want to do.

I second that, I've had 2.0's of all flavors and a 2.1 but love this BR 2.3rpm, rev imiter is at 9500, FAT power band is where it's at and no queer HG issues of the 4g64 block. A bolt in bad *** street motor period.

With the 6765 you are definitely going to want all the revs you can get.

We've tried all of these variations in our race program and I'm a firm believer in the old adage, there is no replacement for displacement. I would go with a 2.3l or 2.4l if I was in your position.
