spending the extra money on forged internals is useless if he's going for something like 400whp...

I would just get ARP headstuds/rodbolts with stock internals and call it a day. Spend the money on cams, valve springs and retainers instead.

I have a mechanic who races full time, he is busy in the summer but has lots of free time in the winter. we put arp headstuds in when we did the 60k maintenence and he has always said go with the stock rebuild.

I think that re-ringing it and doing rodbolts will fit the budget and power numbers im after.

Does anyone have any experience with tomie turbo?
Tomie was all hyped up when they first came out for the evo. Then the numbers on the dynos fell short of impressing anyone. It's pretty much fallen by the wayside now. I can't remember reading about anyone buying one or even wanting to buy one on this forum. There's just a lot better stuff out there.

I have cams. i think they are Crower. Bought the car with them in. But as far as the addition things Id like to get my Tomei ARMS turbo ported along with the stock intake/exhaust manifolds, unless people can agree on a better aftermarket option...

Like i said, Id like to be at a good 400-420 AWHP with a conservative 91 tune.

Can someone tell me if I'm up in the night or if I'm in the ballpark....

After talking with Fairclough Im probably going to do some .20 over pistons, since i need rings anyway. Im sure i can find some over the next couple months for just a lil more than the rings would be anyway. That way i can increase the compression just a tad and will put me around a 2.1, if i understood correctly. Ill still do the ARP rodbolts and headstuds. if i can find a head for a good price that has springs and retainers and maybe a port/polish and valves. I will port my Tomei ARMS housing and match it to a ported and coated stock manifold.

All im looking to achieve is 400+ on 91oct and maybe 450+ on E85. I think ill be right there....!
